The Naturally Inspiring Seminar delivered a powerful exchange of ideas on Merino wool’s versatility, drawing 150 students and faculty from six leading design and textile institutes in Mumbai. Hosted by The Woolmark Company, the seminar showcased wool’s diverse applications in fashion, activewear, and innovation.
Designed for next-gen designers and educators, the session featured tools like the Woolmark Learning Center, Woolmark Performance Challenge, and The Wool Lab. Keynote speakers included Vikram Mahaldar, Chief Business Officer at Raymond Lifestyle Ltd, and Pravin Dhake, Founder of Athlos, who brought contrasting yet complementary insights.
Mahaldar highlighted Raymond’s century-long journey in wool suiting, global leadership with 40 million meters of production, and their forward-thinking integration of AI and digital retail. He also encouraged students to explore internships and career opportunities in the wool industry.
Dhake, on the other hand, presented wool’s application in circular knit activewear designed for performance and sustainability.
The seminar fostered deep engagement through open discussions and interactive Q&A, providing students with exposure to industry expertise, innovation, and opportunities in the wool sector.
