Mumbai Police Band presents a live performance at R City to honour

‘Raising Day of Maharashtra Police’

Mumbai : R CITY, Mumbai’s iconic lifestyle and entertainment destination has been offering unique experiences to its patrons by hosting events across genres. This New Year 2023 witnessed yet another special celebration at R CITY, Ghatkopar wherein the Mumbai Police Band performed live in front of a cheerful audience in the mall premises on 6th January as a part of Maharashtra Police Raising Day celebrations. The mall patrons got to see some talented members of the city’s police force deliver a wonderful music performance. The band performed on several popular numbers which received a thundering applause.

The band is known for performing various types of music like Western Classical, Indian Classical, Waltz, Symphonic Orchestra, Bollywood, Religious songs, patriotic songs, etc. With instruments like the clarinet, trumpet, trombone and others, the band is famous not only in India but across the world for delivering excellent compositions and marvelous performances.

The Mumbai Police Band was established on 18th December 1936. The Mumbai Police Band represents all national functions organized in the state of Maharashtra, as well as various government events. Shri. C. R. Gardner was the band’s first bandmaster. The Mumbai Police Band leads the Maharashtra Police Force in the annual All India Police Band Competition and has so far won the bronze medal three times and won the title once. Similarly, it has won the first prize as the popular band team organized in New Delhi.
