Milano Unica, the premier Italian trade show for luxury textiles and accessories, has been awarded the ISO 20121 certification, recognizing its commitment to sustainable event management. The certification, valid for three years with annual audits, was granted after an evaluation by Bureau Veritas during the most recent edition of the event.

This milestone affirms Milano Unica’s dedication to environmental, economic, and social sustainability, further establishing its leadership in the textile sector. The initiative stems from the Executive Board’s longstanding focus on sustainability, aiming to reinforce and expand sustainable practices over a structured three-year improvement program.

Key partners, such as Fiera Milano—also ISO 20121 certified—play a vital role in ensuring consistent sustainability measures. Milano Unica’s eco-friendly efforts include:

  • The MU Tendenze Sostenibilità Area, spotlighting sustainable exhibitors

  • Use of low-impact materials and reusable booths

  • Digitized badges and communication to reduce paper waste

  • Improved accessibility for inclusivity

  • Waste segregation and promotion of public transport

  • Encouragement of a sustainable supply chain

This certification not only celebrates progress but also serves as a foundation for continuous, measurable improvements in Milano Unica’s sustainability journey.
