Milan’s upcoming womenswear fashion week, set for February 20-26, promises an exciting event lineup, despite the absence of some regular participants. The event, focusing on Fall/Winter 2024-25 women’s ready-to-wear collections, will feature 161 events, including runway shows, presentations, and other activities.
Among the highlights are the return of Marni and the debut collections by the new creative heads of Blumarine, Tod’s, and Moschino. The week will kick off with the first-ever runway show by Italian label Twinset, followed by a series of traditional runway presentations.
Notable events include Diesel’s highly anticipated runway show, which will be open to the public with live streaming of the casting and styling. Adrian Appiolaza’s debut show for Moschino and collections by Matteo Tamburini for Tod’s and Walter Chiapponi for Blumarine will also draw attention.
Marni’s comeback show in Milan and the return of designers like Francesca Liberatore and Elisabetta Franchi add to the excitement. Additionally, menswear label Brioni will unveil its first women’s collection in Milan, while new names like Cosy Sunday, Jarelzhang, and Raisa Vanessa will join the presentation calendar.
Despite some withdrawals, including established labels like Luisa Beccaria and international names like Shuting Qiu and Boss, Milan Fashion Week remains a key event in the fashion calendar. Carlo Capasa, president of the Italian Fashion Chamber, acknowledges the challenges faced by emerging labels but remains optimistic about their future participation.
