Male grooming is finally taking center stage, and the cosmetics industry is seeing a gender-backed shakeup. Over the years there’s been a growing consciousness among men regarding their appearance health and overall public projection.
The desire to look better among men can partly be linked to increasing access to media worldwide, and its continuing role in the generation of a new general understanding in society of what men’s
grooming should actually be like.
In the past, men’s makeup and beauty products were once marketed toward women as a way to attract them to buy the products as gifts for their boyfriends and husbands. Now, with added pressure put on
men to look good all the time, companies are promoting the products directly toward men.
While glitter and eyeshadow are likely not in the immediate future for everyday men’s grooming products, other things like concealerand foundation are becoming more popular.
Here are some beauty inspiration from the runways-
Frosted Tips
Bleached tips and highlights are back, reaffirming that at least as far
as hair trends are concerned, the noughties revival might last into
next summer.
Nail it Man!
Men’s manicures have been trending for awhile now. The Met Gala
2022 says it all.
Tousled Manes
At shows and in lookbooks produced during the pandemic, bed-head
was very much in. This season wasn’t quite as disheveled, but
tousled, windswept mops were everywhere.
Under-styled Shaggy Hair
Just go with the flow. That was, apparently, one of the messages
from the world’s leading hair stylists, who sent a barrage of models
with shaggy bed-head down the runway.
Tired Smokey Eyes
Paired with the shaggy hair, perhaps designers, hair stylists and
makeup artists were attempting to portray a picture of how
everybody is feeling at the moment: tired.
Clean-shaven Faces
A fresh start is, apparently, on the cards.
