ATDC’s Guest Faculty Mr. Shamim Alam of ATDC Patna Centre won the Bronze Medal under Tailor Category in the 10th International Abilympics (Olympics for skill competition) held at Metz, France on 26th March, 2023. The Winner and Mentor Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur, Director, ATDC called on Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu on 31st March, 2023 at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. The Hon’ble President of India congratulated them for winning medals and making the Country proud. She said that their success will motivate Divyangjan.
Mr. Shamim Alam (with Locomotive Disability) and Ms. Bhagyashree (Hearing Impaired) under the category “Tailoring and Dress Making (Basic)” were under the mentorship from the year 2022 onwards.
Shri Rakesh Vaid, Vice-Chairman, ATDC honoured Mr. Shamim Alam for this excellent achievement on 28th March, 2023 in the presence of Shri H K L Magu, ATDC-BOG Member, Shri Vijay Mathur, DG & CEO, ATDC and Shri Mithileshwar Thakur, SG, AEPC.
Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur is a World Skills Expert of Fashion Technology and was selected by International Abilympics Federation as Jury and Expert. She accompanied the Indian Contingents to France and judged the contestants. In this outstanding achievement of Mr. Shamim Alam, Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur, Director nurtured two candidates.
