Spanish retailer Mango has collaborated with the Turkish business Siedrés to launch a new capsule collection that combines “the style of two Mediterranean cultures.” The Y2K fashion served as the inspiration for the limited-edition SS24 collection, which features items like the hibiscus flower print, which has been labelled “the star of so many summer outfits in the 2000s”
The collection emphasises colour use with motifs that “give light and freshness to the garments,” as well as crocheted pieces and pieces with transparency “for a more daring look.” Yellow, red, and blue primary colours are on exhibit next to these prints.
The emphasis is mostly on casual clothing, such as dresses and sets of T-shirts and jeans. The range also includes accessories including shoes, wallets, and imitation jewellery.
Mango invited photographer Ryan McGinley to capture the collection in Formentera as a way of “paying homage to the night of San Juan,” a well-known Mediterranean event that heralds in long, sunny days, in honour of their collaboration.
