Indian fine jewellery house Mahesh Notandass Jewellers, based in Mumbai, showcased its exquisite craftsmanship at the Sino-French Design and Art Exhibition held at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris.
The prestigious event brought together artists and designers from around the world to celebrate the synergy of fashion, art, and culture. Supported by the French Ministry of Culture, the Chinese Embassy in France, and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the exhibition was themed “Revitalizing Heritage, Technology-Driven Innovation, and Fashion Crossover.”
Celebrating Indian Craftsmanship
Representing India on this global stage, Vandana M Jagwani, Creative Director at Mahesh Notandass Jewellers, presented a collection that transcends ornamentation to become wearable art. Each creation expressed the brand’s philosophy — timeless craftsmanship reimagined through modern design.
The collection featured emeralds, rose-cut and round diamonds, and 18-karat gold, symbolizing strength, femininity, and graceful motion.
“Jewellery has always been more than ornamentation,” shared Vandana M Jagwani. “It’s an extension of identity and a form of storytelling. To see our work displayed at the Louvre — among such incredible global artists — is both humbling and a proud moment for Indian craftsmanship.”
An Unexpected Turn
The celebration took a surprising turn when, shortly after the installation, the Louvre was struck by a bold daylight heist. Vandana witnessed the unfolding chaos — a surreal moment that blurred the line between awe and disbelief.
While alarms echoed through the museum’s marble halls, the Mahesh Notandass collection remained safe and untouched. For Vandana, the experience became more than a memory — it was a reflection on ownership, creativity, and disruption in an age where even chaos can become a form of art.
