Louis Vuitton introduces its latest addition to the Les Extraits Collection, titled Myriad, which sets itself apart from traditional fragrances by offering a scent with infinite nuances. Myriad is centered around “aud,” a wood known as “black gold,” which has a complex aroma and a rich cultural history, providing endless inspiration for perfumers. The fragrance combines aud with other notes, including a bespoke rose blend, saffron, cocoa, ambrette, white musk, and a hint of moss, resulting in a multi-faceted blend that is described as “intense lightness” and “luminous depth.”

The creation of Myriad is a collaborative effort between Louis Vuitton’s Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and renowned architect Frank Gehry, who aimed to establish a fluent connection between perfume and architecture. The fragrance not only captivates through its sensorial scent but is also presented in a sculptural masterpiece of a bottle.

Inspired by nature, both Cavallier Belletrud and Gehry share a deep appreciation for the elements and the natural world. Their shared love for movement, fluidity, and the guiding influence of nature is evident in the Les Extraits Collection, with the wind serving as a muse for their creations.

Gehry’s commitment to biomimicry in art and sustainable architecture aligns with the notion of fluidity. In contrast, Cavallier Belletrud draws inspiration from nature for his materials and the ideal of harmony that underpins all of his creations. Louis Vuitton’s Myriad fragrance is a contemporary scent that defies traditional perfume categorization, making it a unique addition to modern perfumery.
