Stone Island has unveiled the latest part in its “Community as a Form of Research” ad, which stars Liam Gallagher.
Along with the frontman of Oasis (whose reformation caused a stir this week), are actor and curator Russell Tovey, singer and skateboarder Sage Elsesser, and DJ Peggy Gou, the first woman to appear in an Italian luxury ready-to-wear brand campaign.
The campaign to introduce the autumn-winter 2024/25 collection builds on the concept launched last January to celebrate the Stone Island community, which may bring together faces from the fields of music, sport, and art.
Carlo Rivetti, one of the campaign’s 12 stars, will be photographed wearing a seasonal version of the President’s signature pullover, which debuted in the autumn-winter 98-99 collection.
Designer Philippe Starck, artist Alexandre Diop, parkour athlete Davide Garzetti, photographer Liam MacRae, music producer Axl Beats, and graphic designer Yoshirotten complete the collection of photographs.
David Sims photographed the ad, while Ferdinando Verderi provided creative direction and Max Pearmain styled it. The narrative is enhanced with a series of questions posed to the 12 protagonists by critic Hans Ulrich Obrist, the artistic director of London’s Serpentine Gallery.
