Layers Launches Anarc 2 at ₹6,999 With Customer-Led Features

Layers has launched its second-generation smartwatch, Anarc 2, at ₹6,999. The consumer technology company was founded by Neel Gogia and Shlok Srivastava.

The new smartwatch has been redesigned across hardware, software and user experience. Importantly, the company used feedback from first-generation Anarc users during the development process.

At the heart of the new experience is Nexora OS, Layers’ newly developed smartwatch operating system.

Anarc 1 Customers Get an Early Look

Before the wider rollout, Layers invited 100 Anarc 1 customers to Delhi. The private event gave these users an early look at Anarc 2.

Customers travelled from cities including Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru. They were able to experience the new smartwatch first-hand.

Instead of starting with a conventional product launch, Layers chose to involve its existing customer community. The approach placed early users at the centre of the second-generation launch.

The company also engaged with users across Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru during development. These conversations helped the team understand everyday needs and areas for improvement.

Furthermore, the Anarc WhatsApp community became an important feedback channel. Over the past year, customers shared more than 100 messages each day.

The messages included suggestions, criticism and product feedback. Layers used these conversations to shape the development of Anarc 2.

“With Anarc 1, we made our share of mistakes, and our customers and fellow creators were honest enough to give us constructive feedback and push us in the right direction. We listened, learned from it and took those conversations back to the team. A huge thank you to all our customers and creators who took the time to tell us what worked and what we could have done better. Anarc 2 is possible because of that community, because people were willing to give us honest feedback and, more importantly, believe in our vision,” said Shlok Srivastava, Co-founder, Layers and Tech Burner.

Nexora OS Powers the New Experience

The biggest software change comes through Nexora OS. Layers developed the operating system to create a more responsive and customisable smartwatch interface.

For the redesign, the company worked with Seymourpowell, a London-based product design consultancy. The focus was on improving interaction and personalisation.

Anarc 2 features a 1.85-inch AMOLED display. It offers a 60Hz refresh rate, 390 × 450 resolution and 322 PPI.

The display can reach up to 700 nits peak brightness. In addition, the watch features an aluminium middle frame and a functional crown with haptics.

It also includes display haptics and a customisable side button. The updated liquid silicone strap completes the design.

Under the hood, Anarc 2 uses a HiSilicon processor and 256MB memory. It also packs a 350mAh battery.

The smartwatch carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Moreover, it is assembled in India, supporting Layers’ focus on the Indian market.

Up to Seven Days of Battery Life

Anarc 2 offers up to seven days of everyday battery life. In saver mode, the battery can last up to 14 days.

The smartwatch also introduces a redesigned magnetic charging system. Its stronger magnetic hold is designed to make charging more convenient.

Customisation Takes Centre Stage

Personalisation is a key part of the Anarc 2 experience. The smartwatch includes more than 200 in-house watchfaces.

Users also get dedicated Always-On Displays. Additionally, responsive and dynamic watchfaces are part of the software experience.

Built-in watchface customisation provides further flexibility. Users can store up to 30 watchfaces directly on the device.

The interface also features more than 40 animations. Haptic feedback and multiple interaction styles add another layer of interaction.

“With Anarc 2, we wanted to complete the hardware and software experience in the areas where the first Anarc could have done more. We looked closely at what was missing and worked on bringing those improvements together across the watch, from the software experience through Nexora OS to important hardware and fitness features such as built-in GPS. The focus was on making the overall experience more complete for everyday use,” said Neel Gogia, Co-founder, Layers.

AI Features Arrive on Anarc 2

Anarc 2 also introduces AI-powered features. These include Layers AI and Canvas AI.

Layers AI works as an AI assistant on the smartwatch. Users can access it directly through voice interaction.

Meanwhile, Canvas AI allows users to create AI-generated watchfaces. Users can create these designs by entering prompts.

Both AI features are currently available in beta.

Health and Fitness Tracking

The smartwatch includes an upgraded Heart Rate Sensor. Layers states that heart-rate monitoring is 33% faster than on the previous generation.

Anarc 2 supports heart-rate and SpO₂ monitoring. It also offers stress tracking and sleep tracking.

Additionally, users can access women’s health tracking and activity rings. Weekly statistics provide further insights into activity.

The smartwatch supports more than 100 workout modes. Built-in GPS also enables route tracking and activity tracking.

Furthermore, Anarc 2 supports AGPS and Strava workout syncing.

Everyday Smart Features

Anarc 2 includes several features designed for everyday use. These include notifications, calling and camera control.

Users can also access Find My Phone and Find My Watch. SOS, calculator, calendar and weather tools are included as well.

Other features include AQI, alarms, timers and reminders. The smartwatch also supports Direct TWS connectivity.

This feature allows compatible earbuds to connect directly to the watch. Users can store up to 20 favourite tracks on the device.

Anarc 2 Enters a Growing Smartwatch Segment

The launch comes as India’s ₹5,000–₹7,000 smartwatch segment continues to expand.

In Q2 2026, the segment reached 225.9K units. This was above the 200K mark.

For comparison, the segment recorded 150.2K units in Q1 2026. It reached 138.4K units in Q4 2025.

The segment also recorded 149.3% year-on-year growth in Q2 2026. Meanwhile, overall smartwatch shipments declined 4.0% year-on-year to 6.4 million units.

Against this market backdrop, Layers has positioned Anarc 2 at ₹6,999. The smartwatch combines upgraded hardware, Nexora OS, AI tools and fitness features in its second-generation offering.
