The 35-week residential programme will be held at The King’s Foundation at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London and the Chanel Metiers d’Art Training Atelier at Highgrove. Students will also have a tour of Paris’s Maison Michel.

The fellowship, which combines traditional methods with contemporary design, will provide a thorough educational experience in the art and craft of millinery starting in the autumn. Professional artisans and instructors in the programme will get guidance and oversight from Priscilla Royer, the creative director of Maison Michel.

“We are excited to continue collaborating with Chanel and le19M on this exciting new programme. “The Millinery Fellowship will be a much-needed postgraduate-level programme in the UK to prepare students to enter the workplace with the right skills, design confidence, and industry insight,” says Daniel McAuliffe, director of education at The King’s Foundation.

Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel SAS and le19M, said, “We are excited to carry on our educational collaboration with The King’s Foundation and were honoured to have Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla visit Le 19M during the State Visit to France last September.”

In order to draw in, instruct, and transfer the expertise of the Métiers d’art to the next generation, our long-term objective has been to support and improve their specialist knowledge. Programmes such as this fellowship programme, which ensure these traditional métiers’ proper place in the evolution of ture, highlight the importance of these métiers in the modern world. It also reaffirms our commitment to innovation, artisanal skills, and long-term growth.
