Kate Middleton made a sartorial statement when she arrived at the coronation concert in a red Alexander McQueen pantsuit. The Duchess of Cambridge, who has been known for reusing her outfits, reportedly opted to recycle the fiery red suit for the event, which she had previously worn in January. The move was seen as a nod to King Charles’ passion for environmental conservation.

The Duchess complemented her outfit with a Van Cleef and Arpels necklace that she has been spotted wearing multiple times. She wore her hair in loose curls to complete her look. Kate was joined by her two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, while their youngest child, Prince Louis, is said to have stayed at home due to his age.

Earlier in the day, the Princess of Wales was seen wearing a pale blue linen blazer by Reiss. She paired the blazer with black cigarette pants, white sneakers, and a white t-shirt. Kate completed her outfit with a pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings and a diamond and blue sapphire engagement ring, which belonged to Princess Diana.

Throughout the coronation celebrations, the Duchess showcased her patriotism by opting for red, white, and blue hues. On the day of the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey, she wore an ivory silk crepe Alexander McQueen dress featuring silver embroidery. The dress was complemented by her royal regalia, and she accessorized with pearl drop earrings that were previously owned by Diana and a floral headpiece by Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen.

The senior royal women wore white for the coronation ceremony. This was in line with a time-honoured ritual for female members of the royal family to wear white for formal events, as explained by 9Honey royal reporter Natalie Oliveri. She noted that this tradition dates back to the coronation of the late Queen in 1953, where women of the royal family and the broader aristocracy all wore white. the Duchess of Cambridge has consistently showcased her sense of style while also promoting sustainability. By opting to recycle her outfits, Kate Middleton has shown her commitment to environmental conservation. Her outfit choice for the coronation concert was not only chic but also made a powerful statement about the need to reduce waste and reuse fashion pieces whenever possible.
