Kalyan Jewellers’ annual Navaratri celebration brought together leading Bollywood and South Indian film personalities at the Kalyanaraman family residence in Thrissur. The festive evening blended cinema, culture and spirituality, with several stars joining the #KalyanNavaratri celebrations.
Among the guests were Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, Sara Ali Khan, Sreeleela, Nagarjuna, Karishma Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Prabhu Ganesan. Other prominent attendees included Malavika, Suhasini Maniratnam, Prethy Mukundan, Sneha and Prasanna, Jayaram and Parvathy Jayaram, Kalidas Jayaram, Priyadarshan and Lissy Priyadarshan, Ritu Varma and Shivakarthikeyan.
This year’s celebration explored the divine journey of Lord Vishnu, from Lord Krishna’s birth and childhood to his role as a divine guide and protector. The presentation showcased Krishna’s playful childhood before moving to his role in the Mahabharata. It culminated in the scene of Lord Krishna revealing his Vishwaroopam to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra while imparting the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
Through these scenes, the celebration highlighted divine wisdom, the importance of dharma and the eternal triumph of good over evil.
Another key attraction was the traditional Bommai Kolu, a multi-tiered display of dolls and figurines. The arrangement featured mythological stories, scenes from everyday life and representations of Goddesses Saraswati, Parvati and Lakshmi.
Guests explored the display and learned about its cultural and spiritual significance. Moreover, the arrangement reflected the journey from the material world towards spiritual understanding, making it an important part of the Navaratri celebrations.
The private gathering brought together film personalities, tradition and devotion in a festive setting. Through this annual celebration, the Kalyanaraman family continues to honour cultural traditions while creating a memorable occasion for its guests.
