The innovative annual encounter pairing artisans and artists staged within significant design producers in the luxury empire, LVMH Métiers d’Art, has selected Josèfa Njtam for its 2023 artistic residence.

In reality, Njtam was selected the previous year, and in January she started her residence in the Jade metal parts manufacturers, with workshops in Portugal and France. They are renowned for having remarkable know-how in the design and manufacture of jewellery and metal items.

Njtam is praised for her bas relief sculptures, molecular statues, and 3D structures made of clay and resin. She is also appreciated for her ability to combine artefacts and civilizations from West African and European cultures to create novel, original pictures. Njtam collaborates with a specialised team of artisans further upstream rather than with a luxury brand studio, like all LVMH Métiers d’Art residency recipients.
