In a move set for completion by the end of 2024, Jimmy Choo, the high-end shoe brand under the
American Capri Group, is shifting its address within Tuscany. Currently based in Scandicci near
Florence, the luxury shoemaker is moving to a larger headquarters nearby, signifying potential
expansions in the region known for its expertise in crafting leather goods.
With nearly 100 employees, Jimmy Choo will move from its existing location to a new site covering
around 3,000 square meters on Via Don Lorenzo Perosi, positioned opposite Gucci. This relocation,
clarified by the company, signifies the establishment of a corporate headquarters rather than a
production site.
Though Jimmy Choo doesn’t have its factory in Italy, it collaborates with local suppliers for
production and partners with Alberto Gozzi, a shoemaker in Pistoia, Tuscany, acquired by Capri in Alberto Gozzi also supplies the other brands within the Capri Group.
The move to a larger headquarters indicates Jimmy Choo’s commitment to strengthening its
presence in Tuscany, potentially paving the way for further investments in the region in the years
ahead.
Amidst challenges like a slowdown in consumer demand, particularly in the American market, Capri
Group, which owns Jimmy Choo, Versace, and Michael Kors, faced a nearly 10% decline in retail sales
in the second quarter of its ongoing fiscal year. Specifically, Jimmy Choo’s revenue dipped by 7% to
$132 million (€123.72 million) during this period.
