In order to create a distinctly British style, The Peninsula London, London’s newest five-star hotel, has enlisted the help of the “Best of British” craftspeople, such as fashion designer Jenny Packham and perfumer Timothy Han.

As part of the creative collaborations, Jenny Packham created the costumes for the hotel staff, Timothy Han, a British perfumer, created a custom scent, Richard Brendon designed porcelain dishware, and more than 40 artists from The Royal Drawing School produced approximately 200 original works of art.

A custom “wardrobe” has been created by Packham, known for her red carpet womenswear designs worn by celebrities like the Princess of Wales and Kate Winslet, for the hotel’s 500+ staff members, including the doormen, valets, and bartenders as well as housekeeping, maintenance, and administrative staff.

The unique uniform was created specifically for the hotel by architect Peter Marino and is inspired by both traditional Asian patterns and British style icons from the 1960s. She also debuts her first menswear designs with this hotel cooperation.

The outfits, according to The Peninsula London, are motivating and inspirational and have been created to capture the “typically polished, distinctive, and welcome ambiance of The Peninsula.”

While the renowned sustainable scent designer Han has produced a custom fragrance for The Peninsula London’s line of in-room bath items. Shea butter and sweet almond oil are among the aromatic essences and natural components used in the production of the product range. All of the scented amenities are devoid of potentially dangerous substances like silicone and parabens. Additionally, the in-room products employ packaging that is 99.9% free of single-use petroleum plastics in order to maintain The Peninsula’s commitment to sustainable luxury.

The Peninsula London’s managing director, Sonja Vodusek, issued the following statement: “We are excited to have collaborated on significant touchpoints throughout the hotel, from glassware and colleague wardrobes to original art and bespoke room fragrances. We have enlisted the talents of these extraordinary ‘Best of British’ creators and suppliers.

These innovative collaborations “are completely in line with our steadfast dedication to fostering the art, culture, and neighbourhood of The Peninsula’s new home in Britain.”
