JD Institute of Fashion Technology is set to host the Mumbai edition of the JD Design Awards 2026, a four-day showcase celebrating creativity, innovation, and emerging design talent. Scheduled from 20 to 23 July 2026, the event will bring together students, industry professionals, buyers, and design enthusiasts to highlight the next generation of designers.
The event will commence on 20 July at The Bombay Art Society with the launch of the Stock Room, a new initiative that allows students to showcase and sell their creations directly to buyers. The platform is designed to encourage entrepreneurial thinking while providing hands-on exposure to consumer preferences, market trends, and the commercial aspects of the design industry. Renowned designer Mozzez Singh will also engage with students, sharing insights from his design journey.
On 21 and 22 July, students from the Interior Design, Visual Communication, and Luxury departments will present innovative concepts, functional design solutions, and creative projects. The exhibition will highlight their understanding of aesthetics, sustainability, functionality, and evolving design trends.
The event will conclude on 23 July with a grand fashion show at St. Andrews Auditorium, Mumbai, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, where students will present their collections on the runway, demonstrating their creativity, technical expertise, and unique design perspectives.
Guided by Yogesh Dalal, Trustee of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, and Dr. Payal Dalal, Director of the institute, the JD Design Awards continue to provide aspiring designers with industry exposure and opportunities to develop confidence and professional skills.
