IVO Textiles Preserves Six Decades of Craftsmanship with Kornit Digital
UK-based IVO Textiles is combining decades of textile craftsmanship with digital printing technology. The family-owned textile specialist has invested in the Kornit Presto MAX S roll-to-roll digital textile printing system.
The investment will help IVO Textiles reproduce the quality of traditional screen printing. At the same time, it will improve production speed and flexibility.
The company will also be able to print on a wider range of fabrics. In addition, the system offers a broader colour gamut for premium interior textile applications.
A Heritage Built on Craftsmanship
IVO Textiles was founded in the early 1960s. The company built its reputation during London’s influential fashion era.
Over the years, it produced fabrics for designers such as Celia Birtwell, Ossie Clark and Zandra Rhodes. It also worked with the iconic fashion retailer Biba.
As the market changed, IVO Textiles moved into premium furnishing fabrics, wallpapers and interior décor. However, the company continued to focus on craftsmanship and quality.
Digital Technology Meets Traditional Quality
IVO Textiles began searching for a new digital textile printer to replace its previous system. The company carried out an extensive evaluation of leading digital printing technologies.
As part of the process, identical fabrics and production files were tested across several platforms. The aim was to identify a system that could closely match traditional screen-printing results.
The Kornit Presto MAX S consistently delivered the closest match. It also performed strongly in colour accuracy, durability and fastness testing.
Further demonstrations at Kornit’s Customer Experience Center in Düsseldorf confirmed the system’s production capabilities and reliability.
Michael Haas, CEO, IVO Textiles said: “IVO Textiles has always built its reputation on craftsmanship, quality and innovation. When we evaluated the market, we weren’t simply looking for another digital printer. We were looking for a platform capable of matching the quality of traditional screen printing while giving us the flexibility to meet today’s customer expectations. Kornit delivered exactly that and gives us the confidence to continue growing our business.”
Faster Production and Greater Flexibility
The Kornit Presto MAX S is already delivering improvements in productivity and production efficiency.
IVO Textiles highlights several features as key benefits. These include an expanded colour gamut and broader fabric compatibility.
The system also includes intelligent self-centering technology. Furthermore, white ink and XDi capabilities create additional possibilities for premium interior textile applications.
Production speed has delivered the most immediate impact.
Previously, a typical 200-metre order took around one and a half days to print. The printed fabric then required baking in a separate finishing department.
Now, the same order can be completed in under two hours. This includes both printing and curing.
As a result, IVO Textiles can increase production capacity. It can also respond to customer requirements much faster.
“The colour gamut and the range of fabrics we can now print on are tremendous advantages for our business. But the biggest benefit is the speed. We’re now able to respond to our customers much faster while maintaining the quality they’ve always expected from IVO Textiles,” added Michael Haas.
Supporting the Next Generation of Textile Manufacturing
Customer support was also an important factor in IVO Textiles’ decision. The company highlighted Kornit’s engineering and service teams during installation and commissioning.
“IVO Textiles demonstrates that heritage manufacturers don’t have to choose between craftsmanship and digital innovation,” said Guy Yaniv, President, Kornit Digital Europe. “By combining traditional screen-printing expertise with Kornit’s digital technology, IVO Textiles has preserved the quality that built its reputation while achieving the speed, flexibility and efficiency required to compete in today’s premium textile market.”
With the Kornit Presto MAX S now in production, IVO Textiles can build on its long-standing reputation for quality.
The technology also gives the company greater flexibility for new applications. At the same time, it supports the changing requirements of customers across the premium interior textiles market.
