IVO Textiles, a family-owned UK textile manufacturer known for its premium printed fabrics, has strengthened its production capabilities by investing in the Kornit Presto MAX S roll-to-roll digital textile printing system. The move enables the company to preserve the quality of traditional screen printing while significantly improving production speed, expanding fabric compatibility and enhancing colour performance.

Founded in the early 1960s, IVO Textiles built its reputation by producing fabrics for renowned designers such as Celia Birtwell, Ossie Clark and Zandra Rhodes, as well as the iconic fashion retailer Biba. Over the years, the company successfully diversified into premium furnishing fabrics, wallpapers and interior décor while maintaining its focus on craftsmanship and quality.

As part of its technology upgrade, IVO Textiles evaluated several leading digital textile printing systems, testing identical fabrics and production files to identify a solution capable of replicating the appearance and quality of traditional screen printing. According to the company, the Kornit Presto MAX S consistently delivered superior colour accuracy, durability and print quality while offering the closest match to conventional screen-printing results.

Demonstrations at Kornit’s Customer Experience Center in Düsseldorf further validated the system’s performance, helping IVO Textiles select the platform to support its future growth.

Commenting on the investment, Michael Haas, CEO of IVO Textiles, said, “IVO Textiles has always built its reputation on craftsmanship, quality and innovation. When we evaluated the market, we weren’t simply looking for another digital printer. We were looking for a platform capable of matching the quality of traditional screen printing while giving us the flexibility to meet today’s customer expectations. Kornit delivered exactly that and gives us the confidence to continue growing our business.”

The company reports that the new system has already delivered significant gains in productivity and manufacturing efficiency. Its wider colour gamut, ability to print on a broader range of fabrics, intelligent self-centring technology, and support for white ink and XDi applications have expanded creative possibilities for premium interior textiles.

Production speed has seen the greatest improvement. Orders that previously required around one and a half days to complete, including separate curing processes, can now be printed and cured in less than two hours. The reduced turnaround time enables the company to increase production capacity while responding more quickly to customer requirements.

Highlighting the benefits, Haas added, “The colour gamut and the range of fabrics we can now print on are tremendous advantages for our business. But the biggest benefit is the speed. We’re now able to respond to our customers much faster while maintaining the quality they’ve always expected from IVO Textiles.”

IVO Textiles also credited Kornit’s engineering and service teams for providing strong technical support throughout the installation and commissioning process.

Guy Yaniv, President, Kornit Digital Europe, said, “IVO Textiles demonstrates that heritage manufacturers don’t have to choose between craftsmanship and digital innovation. By combining traditional screen-printing expertise with Kornit’s digital technology, IVO Textiles has preserved the quality that built its reputation while achieving the speed, flexibility and efficiency required to compete in today’s premium textile market.”

With the Kornit Presto MAX S now fully operational, IVO Textiles is positioned to expand its capabilities while continuing to serve the evolving needs of the premium interior textiles market.
