Itrh’s vibrant, sculptural collection titled ‘Natak’ brought high-octane drama to the runway at Dubai Fashion Week for womenswear. The collection juxtaposed Indian aesthetics with fusion styles, playing with dichotomies such as drama versus tenderness and aggressiveness versus romance.
Natak, which means ‘drama’, was a bright and youthful collection full of swishing gowns and daring tailoring. The collection had a diverse color palette that includes dark brown and black, vibrant turquoise and chartreuse, and delicate lilac and butter yellow, all adorned with dazzling embellishments.
“Bling and drama are a very inherent part of our brand and innate to our aesthetic,” Itrh designers Ridhi Bansal and Mohit Rai stated about the presentation in a news release. Natak also means drama. The inspiration stems from the regional and local Natak performances we’ve all grown up witnessing. The stage shows, drama, theatrics, makeup, and theatrical costumes inspired this collection.”
This season, the brand upgraded their distinctive Itrh crystal textile by combining it with feathers and chiffon fabrics to create a softness. Natak’s maximalist designs were influenced by traditional Indian clothes like sarees, lehengas, and kaftans but reinterpreted for the global red carpet. Itrh’s international brand following is growing as a result of its collection being displayed in Dubai.
