ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 Shanghai to Showcase Smart Manufacturing
The textile machinery industry is set to converge at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 from 20 to 24 November 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), with the exhibition highlighting the latest developments in intelligent manufacturing, automation, digitalisation and sustainable textile production.
Asia’s leading textile machinery business platform will span seven halls covering approximately 180,000 square metres, representing a 10% expansion compared with the previous edition. The increased exhibition footprint reflects continued industry interest in Asia’s textile manufacturing market.
Emerging Technologies Take Centre Stage
The 2026 edition will introduce several emerging technology sectors in response to changing industry requirements. These will include textile-reinforced composite equipment, textile recycling technologies, digital platforms and production automation solutions.
A dedicated Research and Innovation sector will also bring together leading Chinese universities to showcase advanced research and industry-academia collaborations. Featured developments will include embodied robots for textile applications, intelligent inspection systems and artificial intelligence development platforms.
Complete Textile Manufacturing Value Chain
More than 1,800 exhibitors, nearly 90% of them from China, have applied to participate in the 2026 edition. Exhibits will be organised according to production processes, covering the complete textile and garment manufacturing value chain.
Key sectors will include spinning, weaving, knitting, man-made fibres, nonwovens, braiding, dyeing and finishing, printing, embroidery, garment making, testing, packaging and recycling.
Leading international and Chinese companies confirmed to participate include Atexco, Barmag, Cixing, Dornier, Epson, Fong’s, Itema, Karl Mayer, Konica Minolta, LMW, Murata, Picanol, Rieter, Santoni, Saurer, Shima Seiki, Staubli, Trützschler, Vandewiele and others.
The participating companies will showcase technologies focused on digitalisation, intelligent manufacturing and automation, with an emphasis on improving sustainability, energy efficiency, resource efficiency and production performance.
International Visitor Outreach Expands
The previous 2024 edition attracted more than 90,000 visitors from 111 countries and regions, with nearly 90% coming from China. Visitor numbers from South American markets including Argentina, Brazil and Colombia recorded notable growth, alongside increased participation from Algeria, Japan, Italy, Sri Lanka, Türkiye and the United Kingdom.
Ahead of the 2026 edition, organisers have conducted international promotional activities across India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Türkiye between April and July. Outreach programmes have included visits to Coimbatore, Ludhiana and Surat in India, as well as Jakarta, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Bursa and Istanbul.
Further promotional activities are planned in Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, Pakistan, South Africa and other international markets to encourage wider trade participation.
Trade Visitor Registration Underway
Trade visitor pre-registration opened on 25 May 2026 and will remain available until 19 November 2026. Visitors can register through the official ITMA ASIA and CITME exhibition websites and designated WeChat accounts.
Early registrants can receive a 40% discount on admission tickets. Trade associations, industry organisations and corporate groups with six or more participants can also apply for preferential group admission packages.
