ITM 2026, the International Textile Machinery Exhibition, will be held from June 9 to 13, 2026, at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul. The exhibition will spotlight advanced technologies shaping the future of denim manufacturing. In particular, smart production systems, sustainable materials, digital washing, and laser finishing solutions will take centre stage.

As a result, ITM 2026 is expected to emerge as a key global platform for denim-focused innovation.

Türkiye’s Strategic Role in the European Denim Market

Türkiye continues to strengthen its position as a leading denim fabric supplier to the European Union. Its advanced manufacturing capabilities, efficient logistics, and flexible production models offer strong advantages to global brands. Moreover, its proximity to Europe enables faster delivery and responsiveness.

According to the World Denim Fabric Sector Foreign Trade Report by ITHIB, Türkiye accounted for 25.4 percent of the EU’s denim fabric imports in 2024. Consequently, the country ranked fourth globally with denim fabric exports valued at USD 291 million.

Strong Growth in Denim Apparel Exports

In addition to fabric production, Türkiye plays a major role in denim apparel exports. In 2024, denim garment exports reached USD 3.5 billion. As a result, Türkiye ranked fourth worldwide and became the EU’s second-largest denim apparel supplier, after Bangladesh.

This performance highlights the country’s growing influence across the full denim value chain.

Sustainable Denim Drives Global Demand

Sustainability remains a defining strength of Turkish denim manufacturing. Increasingly, manufacturers combine traditional craftsmanship with environmentally responsible production methods. For instance, many producers collaborate with international certification bodies.

Furthermore, collections made from 100 percent organic and recyclable materials continue to gain traction. As a result, global brands increasingly prefer Turkish denim for their sustainability commitments.

Denim Technologies to Lead ITM 2026 Highlights

A major attraction at ITM 2026 will be the dedicated Denim Technologies section. This segment will cover every stage of denim production, including dyeing, washing, finishing, laser applications, and digital solutions.

Importantly, exhibitors will focus on energy efficiency, water conservation, reduced chemical usage, and automation. Therefore, the showcased innovations will support a more sustainable, efficient, and future-ready denim industry.
