Italy’s retail trade index saw a 0.1% decrease in value terms in April 2024, with sales volume dropping by 0.3%. Over the previous three months, sales value declined by 0.2% and volume by 0.4%, marking a shift from previous growth trends since March 2021. This data was reported by the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat).
In April 2024, retail trade saw a 1.9% decrease in value and a 3.3% drop in sales volume compared to the previous year. Large-scale distribution decreased by 3.8%, small-scale distribution by 0.5%, and non-store retail sales by 0.8%.
Online sales in April 2024 showed a positive growth of 7.4% compared to the previous year, rebounding after a decline in March.
