Intex Bangladesh 2024 – Concludes on a High Note, Ushering in a New Era of Textile Sourcing in Bangladesh

The global textile value chain was brought together on a single platform for the 14th edition of Intex Bangladesh, which came to a successful close and represented a major change in the textile sourcing scene. Taking place at the ICCB in Dhaka from May 30 to June 1, 2024, Intex Bangladesh saw an unprecedented number of participants, bringing together more than 5800 quality trade buyers

The three-day event showcased cutting-edge textiles, including functional, organic, and environmentally friendly yarns, apparel fabrics, denim, clothing accessories, dyes, chemicals, and related services. It was held throughout all four of ICCB’s exhibition rooms.

“Our government is taking multiple steps to propel RMG sector,” stated Mr. Md. Nuruzzaman, Director General, Department of Textiles, Ministry of Textiles & Jute, Government of Bangladesh, during the expo’s opening. One of our main goals is to increase our market share globally.

Mr. Abdullah Hil Rakib, Vice President of the BGMEA and MD of Team Group, who was a distinguished guest, said, “Product diversity is the key to expanding our garment industry.” In order to attain the target of a $100 billion export market by 2030, regional collaboration is essential.

Her Excellency Haznah Md. Hashim, the Malaysian High Commissioner, Mr. Mofazzal Hossain Pavel, the President of the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) and Managing Director of Dongyi Sourcing Ltd., Mr. K. Sakthivel, the Vice Chairman of PDEXCIL.

As a worldwide hub, Intex Bangladesh drew top Bangladeshi producers, exporters, brands, and buying offices in addition to foreign purchasers from all over the world. With over 100 businesses under the “Made in India Textiles Pavilion,” Intex Bangladesh 2024 boasted the largest-ever Indian representation, breaking previous records.

The participation of high calibre attendees, including heads of manufacturing, sourcing, and design teams as well as decision makers, was well welcomed by the exhibitors. Through the Intex platform, more than 5,800 visitors—including top domestic producers, foreign buyers, and industry experts from China, India, Saudi Arabia, Southeast Asia, the Americas, Europe.
