Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Spring Edition will return from March 11 to 13, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Once again, the fair reinforces its role as China’s leading sourcing platform for home textiles.

Importantly, the upcoming edition responds directly to growing consumer demand for advanced bedding solutions. Rising lifestyle stress, sleep disorders, and health awareness continue to shape buying behaviour across global markets.

As a result, sleep quality has emerged as a decisive purchasing factor. Therefore, the fair will spotlight innovative, functional, and sustainable bedding designed to support better rest and long-term wellbeing.

Growing International Participation Signals Market Confidence

Notably, the 2025 Spring Edition welcomed over 25,000 visitors from 85 countries and regions. Attendance increased by 7.5 percent year on year, underlining the event’s expanding international reach.

Building on this momentum, the 2026 edition aims to deepen connections between global buyers and suppliers. At the same time, it seeks to accelerate innovation across the home textiles value chain.

Consequently, as healthier sleep gains global importance, the fair continues to serve as a critical hub for sourcing, trend discovery, and strategic networking.

Bedding Innovation Takes Centre Stage in 2026

According to Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the upcoming edition offers far more than conventional sourcing. Instead, it functions as a dynamic showcase for new materials, advanced technologies, and performance-driven textile solutions.

Moreover, the 2026 fair will highlight cutting-edge bedding innovations alongside a strong fringe programme. These initiatives reflect China’s rising interest in products that actively enhance sleep quality.

Significantly, the Sleep Aid Summit will return. This feature further strengthens the fair’s role as a platform for knowledge exchange, trend forecasting, and product innovation within the sleep and wellness segment.

China’s Expanding Sleep Economy Drives Demand

Meanwhile, China’s rapidly expanding sleep economy continues to reshape the home textiles market. Industry projections estimate the sector will reach RMB 658.7 billion (USD 92.6 billion) by 2027.

Furthermore, the 2025 China Sleep Health Survey Report found that nearly 66 percent of respondents experience sleep-related issues. More than half are actively seeking solutions.

As awareness of sleep’s impact on physical and mental health grows, consumers are increasingly willing to invest in premium bedding. Comfort, hygiene, and functionality now play a central role in purchasing decisions.

As a result, manufacturers focused on innovation, sustainability, and performance-driven design are finding new growth opportunities.

Broad Home Textile Offerings Beyond Bedding

While bedding remains a core focus, the fair will present a comprehensive range of home textile categories. These include towelling, rugs, upholstery fabrics, soft furnishings, curtain fabrics, and table and kitchen linen.

In addition, textile design services and home textile technologies will feature prominently. Across all segments, exhibitors will highlight solutions aligned with sustainability, material innovation, and evolving lifestyle trends.

Exhibitors Emphasise Sustainability and Functional Design

Reflecting on the 2025 edition, Ms Huang Chunjie, Deputy General Manager of Sales at Yantai North Home Textile Co Ltd, highlighted the fair’s strategic value.

She noted that China’s home textiles market shows strong potential for sustainable and innovative products. At the same time, rising focus on sleep quality and environmental responsibility is driving demand for functional solutions. These include antibacterial textiles and sleep-assist products that balance comfort with performance.

Knowledge-Led Fringe Events Enhance Engagement

In addition to its exhibitor showcase, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Spring 2026 will feature a robust fringe programme. These sessions aim to keep attendees informed about emerging technologies and industry insights.

Notably, the Sleep Aid Summit will explore the integration of bedding with smart home solutions. Expert forums and authoritative sleep research reports will support knowledge sharing.

Meanwhile, the Sleeping Aid Display Area will present curated bedding selections across five comfort-led displays. Each display will illustrate future directions in sleep technology and wellness innovation.

A Strategic Platform for the Global Home Textiles Industry

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Home Textile Association, the fair remains a cornerstone event for sourcing and innovation.

Ultimately, as demand rises for healthier, smarter, and more sustainable home textile solutions, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Spring Edition 2026 is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of global bedding and sleep markets.
