Indorama Ventures has taken a significant step toward advancing circularity in home and contract textiles by introducing Trevira® CS Eco fabrics made with textile-recycled, permanently flame-retardant fibers and filament yarns. The new offering contains 50 percent recycled textile material and supports more sustainable fabric production without compromising safety or performance.

The innovation enables fabric manufacturers to develop environmentally responsible versions of Trevira CS, a globally recognised flame-retardant fabric brand for interiors and public spaces. The recycled Trevira® flame-retardant fibers and yarns were first presented to customers during the Heimtextil trade fair held in mid-January in Frankfurt, Germany.

Jesper Nielsen, Global Key Account Manager Flame Retardancy, explains: “This innovation is possible through Indorama Ventures’ joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling. The renowned recycler uses textile waste from both, consumers and industry, to produce recycled polyester chips. From these chips, we make our high-modified Trevira® flame-retardant fibers and yarns. Customers who use these fibers and yarns to produce fabrics can then apply for the Trevira CS Eco brand. This way, they combine their commitment to circularity with the strong, permanent flame-retardant performance the Trevira CS fabric brand is known for since 1980.”

Indorama Ventures announced its partnership with Jiaren Chemical Recycling in November 2025 as part of its long-term strategy to scale textile circularity. By converting post-consumer and industrial textile waste into high-performance polyester chips, the collaboration enables the production of resource-efficient fibers that meet stringent flame-retardant requirements.

The newly launched textile-recycled Trevira® flame-retardant fibers and yarns demonstrate how circular materials can be integrated into high-performance applications for interiors, supporting sustainability goals while maintaining comfort, durability, and safety standards.
