INDEX™ Nonwovens Exhibition successfully concluded its 2026 edition at Palexpo in Geneva, reaffirming its position as a leading international platform for innovation and collaboration within the nonwovens industry despite ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges.

The exhibition brought together 625 exhibitors from 44 countries and recorded 11,452 visits over four days, attracting industry leaders, technical experts, and global decision-makers focused on the evolving future of nonwovens, from disposable products to advanced sustainable and high-performance applications.

Organisers highlighted the industry’s strong commitment to maintaining in-person engagement, with participants using the event to reconnect, exchange expertise, and explore emerging technologies shaping the sector.

A major focus throughout INDEX™26 was the growing alignment between sustainability and technical innovation. Exhibitors showcased advanced production technologies designed to improve efficiency, reduce carbon footprints, and create finer fibres while supporting circular manufacturing approaches.

Many companies introduced recyclable single-material solutions aimed at replacing complex multi-layer structures, alongside high-performance protective textiles developed to meet modern safety requirements without the use of PFAS.

The seminar programme and product presentations emphasised the importance of agility, innovation, and regulatory adaptation as businesses navigate evolving market conditions and global disruptions.

In addition to its technology showcase, the exhibition expanded its networking and experiential elements through initiatives such as the Women’s Networking Breakfast and the immersive “Nonwovens: In Every Layer of Life” experience, which demonstrated the role of nonwoven materials across everyday applications.

Industry representatives also underlined the growing importance of global collaboration in advancing smarter manufacturing systems, automated machinery, sustainable chemistry, and lightweight material development as the sector moves towards a more circular and efficient future.

The organisers confirmed that preparations are already underway for INDEX™29, scheduled to take place from May 15–18, 2029, in Geneva.
