IN THE FIRST QUARTER, 40% OF GERMAN CLOTHING IMPORTS WERE TROUSERS AND T-SHIRTS

In the first three months of 2022, Germany imported 40% of all apparel products in two categories—trousers & shorts and T-shirts. During the months of January through March, imports of pants and shorts totaled $9.755 billion, or 27.65 percent, of all apparel. T-shirts came in second place, accounting for 13.19% of all imported goods.

According to TexPro, a market research tool from Fibre2Fashion, Germany imported T-shirts worth $1.287 billion (13.19%) and pants & shorts worth $2.697 billion (27.65%) in the first quarter of 2022. Therefore, around 40% of the total was represented by the import of T-shirts and pants and shorts combined.Germany imported a variety of goods, including jerseys for $1.215 billion (12.46%), shirts worth $847.579 million (8.69%), dresses worth $644.264 million (6.60%), and innerwear.
