November 2024 in Hyderabad — The world’s top skincare brand, Bepanthen, is proudly being introduced to the Indian market by Bayer’s Consumer Health Division. Additionally, an Ipsos** poll of Indian dermatologists highlights the prevalence of dry skin in the general population. According to 82% of dermatologists, patients frequently dismiss recurring dry skin as “just dry skin” without realizing that there may be a more serious underlying skin disease.

Insightful accounts of the prevalence of dry skin conditions in our nation are provided by the 2024 Bepanthen Survey on Dry Skin, which was carried out in seven cities. The results highlight the urgent need to address skincare concerns faced by people with dry, irritated, and sensitive skin. With 75 years of experience and efficacy, Bepanthen strives to offer unparalleled comfort for skin that is sensitive and dry.

Nine out of ten dermatologists who participated in the Bepanthen Dry Skin Survey concurred that adult patients currently lack adequate understanding about recurrent dry skin diseases and how to treat them. Nearly one in three people with dry skin who consult a dermatologist experience recurrent dryness. According to dermatologists, people with dry skin typically use over-the-counter moisturizers and home cures before seeing a specialist.

Bayer Consumer Health responded to these findings by launching Bepanthen, the #1 skincare brand in the world, in India. Bepanthen provides a specific line of body and face cleansers and moisturizers made to cater to the particular requirements of Indian skin. In addition to offering instant relief for dry, irritated, and sensitive skin, Bepanthen’s fragrance-free, paraben-free solution, enhanced with pro-vitamin B5 and prebiotics, promotes long-term skin health and skin regeneration. Bepanthen is committed to helping people attain healthier skin and bridging the information gap regarding dry skin diseases by filling in the important gaps found in the study.

“What is interesting to note in the 2024 Bepanthen Survey on Dry Skin is that sometimes people cannot distinguish between just dry skin and chronic dry skin, even though some of them look up more information online,” said Sandeep Verma, Country Head for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka at Bayer’s Consumer Health Division. “The clinical efficacy of the Bepanthen range in managing dermatitis and eczema is highly significant,” continued Dr. Ratnapal Shah, Senior Dermatologist, MBBS DVD. For general skin health, these problems must be effectively addressed. The need of taking care of dry and itchy skin is often overlooked by patients, which exacerbates these disorders.
