The 20th annual Fashionite 2023 was held at the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology on October 4, 2023. Twenty stunning models strutted their stuff down a specially created ramp at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Bangalore for their annual fashion show. The show included the work of 78 brilliant designers.

National-level university presidents, fashion industry trainers and leaders, fashion industry employers, and members of Rotary International were among the day’s most notable guests.

IIFT Principal Manjula Harish greeted distinguished visitors, revered parents, vibrant and passionate educators, eager students, and representatives from the worlds of print and electronic media.

As the models came down the runway displaying their creations, the crowd applauded and cheered enthusiastically for each designer. When showing off their creations to the thousand-plus crowd of friends, family, and fashion industry insiders, the designers wore expressions of pride, confidence, and nervousness.

Based on criteria such as doing the topic justice, swatch selection, colour aesthetics, silhouette innovation, presentation of collections with accessories, details in ornamentation, style, and originality, the judges narrowed the field to 15 finalists out of 78 competitors.

The event included a wide variety of fascinating topics, such as futuristic clothing, handlooms, mythology, zero waste, paddy fields, tribal art, and more.

At the conclusion of the exhibition, all the designers were rewarded with Prestigious IIFT
keepsakes and diplomas in honour of their hard work.

Awards were presented for categories such as IIFT Best Designer of the Year 2023, Best Designer Award in B.Sc. Fashion & Apparel Design, ‘BEST DESIGNER-NON-TEXTILE,’ Best Designer Award in Fashion Designing and Boutique Management, Best Collection and Best Theme.

Ms. Seema Savio, HoD & HR Head of IIFT, delivered the closing Vote of Thanks.
