The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has appointed Anoop Vrajlal Mehta as Chairman and Independent Director of its Board, effective June 6, 2025, pending shareholder approval.
A respected veteran of the global diamond trade, Mehta brings over 50 years of experience to IGI. He currently serves as Chairman & Managing Director at Mohit Diamonds Pvt. Ltd. and as President of Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB). His contributions to organizations such as the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) further reflect his deep influence in the industry.
This appointment reinforces IGI’s commitment to governance, integrity, and excellence in gem certification and industry standards.
