Wellness travel, quiet outdoors, and eco-accountability influence forecast.
As part of its commitment to continuous creative innovation and sustainable textile solutions across the entire value chain, Hyosung’s Fashion Design Center (FDC), which is an interactive fashion studio that spans the U.S., Europe, and Asia renowned for analysing progressive brands and retailers while researching consumer insights, has unveiled its forecasted FW 26/27 Textile Trend report. The research, dubbed Restorative Journey, lists the critical elements that prominent fashion manufacturers are likely to add into their designs in the following year.
The three main themes that Restorative Journey supports are eco-accountability, quiet outdoor travel, and wellness travel.
Wellness Travel: Traditional sightseeing is no longer the only aspect of travel. Nowadays, a lot of travelers are more concerned with enhancing their mental and physical health, and they frequently look for this on their travels. The market for wellness tourism, which offers a variety of experiences tailored to the various requirements of travelers, is expected to continue rising due to factors such as the increase of adventure sports, the growing travel sector, and growing interest in personal health.
The Rise of Quiet Outdoor: Outdoor aficionados are choosing more modest, sophisticated designs that radiate luxury over items with large branding and elaborate decorations. The Gorpcore style is changing as a result of this development, since there is an increasing need for sophisticated clothing with understated branding and technological materials that blend in with both urban and outdoor environments.
Eco-Accountability: Responses to the climate crisis have evolved from a sense of ‘urgency’ to recognizing it as an ’emergency,’ with accountability now becoming the critical next step. Both corporations and individuals must embrace accountability as a core principle to move beyond eco-rage and foster hope, as environmental extremes increasingly affect daily life. The fashion and apparel industry faces mounting pressure, with both suppliers and consumers needing to prioritize eco-responsibility to safeguard the planet.
Gary Oh, Team/General Manager, Hyosung FDC, claims that fashion brands are using eco-friendly raw materials, particularly bio-based raw materials that can lessen reliance on fossil fuels and achieve a low carbon footprint, as a first step in getting ready for the upcoming sustainability regulations. In addition to fibers, these bio-derived materials are also used in membranes and finishings during the production process.
In light of this realization, FDC forecasts the following three themes for clothing manufactured using certified sustainable renewable brands of spandex, performance nylon, and polyester yarns as well as Hyosung’s extensive selection of Creora.
Sportswear
Feel Good Dash: Performing core styles with improved efficiency.
Refined Athluxe: opulent, long-lasting sportswear with a smooth, glossy surface and stretch for comfort on the street and at the gym.
The Paper-Weight Shield is a lightweight woven fabric with a semi-shiny surface and a papery feel.
Outdoor Apparel
On or off the mountain, technical luxury ranges from elegant travel attire to casual outdoor clothing.
Off the Slope: Versatile winter resort apparel with a ski theme that can be worn off the slopes.
Warm Fleece: Renewably fleeced wintertime outdoor necessities.
Loungewear
Saturday Stretching: A healthy way to stretch gently in bed.
Duvet Recovery: Cozy lounge materials with a soft brush for improved sleep.
Relaxed Chic: a formal look with a cozy vibe.
