Hero MotoCorp and the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) marked a major milestone in women’s empowerment with the Saksham Project convocation and new batch inauguration in Vaishali, Bihar. The event recognized the graduation of women trained in Automotive Telecalling, Electric Vehicle Service Assistance, and Automotive Sales Executive roles, while also inducting a fresh batch of trainees.
The ceremony began with a lamp-lighting ritual, led by Union Cabinet Minister Shri Chirag Paswan, who applauded the initiative as a reflection of Bihar’s evolving landscape, where women are entering traditionally male-dominated sectors. He emphasized the expanding opportunities in the automobile and EV sectors, particularly at the grassroots, and proposed setting up a Center of Excellence to further support skill development.
Vinkesh Gulati, Vice President, ASDC, highlighted Saksham’s transformative role in bridging gender gaps in the automotive workforce. With over 4,000 women already trained, Saksham equips women from underserved communities with critical technical and soft skills tailored to evolving industry needs.
Now entering Phase II, Saksham aims to skill 20,000 women across eight high-demand automotive job roles. As of March 2025, over 2,299 women have been mobilized, and 1,890 are in training.
With strong collaboration between government, industry, and training partners, Saksham continues to redefine women’s roles in India’s automotive sector—proving that when women rise, the nation moves forward.
