Luxury fashion brand Hermès recently opened a new store in Wuxi, China, further growing its
presence in the country. Situated in Center 66 within the Liangxi District, the two-story space draws
architectural inspiration from water and stone. The façade design pays homage to traditional Ming
temple roofs, featuring vertical wooden tiles in a dark-blue shade, resembling the winding path of
the Yangtze River.

On the first level, customers can explore women’s silk, fashion jewelry, men’s silk, fragrances, and
men’s ready-to-wear sections. Natural light illuminates the men’s clothing area, accompanied by a
dark-blue ceramic staircase leading to the leather goods and men’s shoe section. The second level
houses women’s ready-to-wear and shoes, along with equestrian accessories, homeware, jewelry,
watches, and a private lounge.

Crafted by Parisian architecture agency RDAI, the store’s floors showcase granite grey stone adorned
with mosaic carpets featuring the Faubourg pattern in dark-blue and pale-yellow tones, reminiscent
of Ming dynasty bas-reliefs. The store’s ambiance is further enhanced by curved ceilings adorned
with light oak wood, accentuating its mineral-like appearance.

The store’s interior is complemented by artwork from French artists, such as Thierry Ardouin’s
photograph ‘l’Arbre du voyageur’ and original designs from French painter Antoine Carbonne’s Émile
Hermès collection.

This opening signifies the 34 th Hermès store in China, solidifying its presence in Jiangsu province,
often referred to as the “land of rice and fish,” emphasizing the brand’s foothold in the region’s
prosperity.
