Health and Glow is bought by Avenue Supermarts’ creator

Avenue Supermarts founder Radhakishan Damani bought Health and Glow. Damani invests between Rs 700 crore and Rs 750 crore in India’s fast-growing beauty business.

The Economic Times claimed that the Bengaluru beauty firm was acquired. Damani bought Health and Glow from Rajan Raheja and Hemendra Kothari’s families.

Health and Glow opened its first store in Chennai in 1997. It has around 175 Indian stores. Health and Glow sells Indian and worldwide cosmetics brands like Colour Revolution, Sugar, Kiro, Olay, Simple, Biotique, Maybelline, and its own private label. 

According to Indian Retailer Bureau, millionaire Radhakishan Damani will buy Health and Glow after buying Bombay Swadeshi Stores in 2015. Damani bought India’s oldest retailer for Rs 42 crore.

D-Mart stores sell bargain clothes, consumables, beauty products, and personal care products under Damani’s Avenue Supermarts brand. Net profits rose 2.3% in the first quarter of 2024.
