The 39th edition of the Garment Technology Expo 2026 (GTE 2026) has commenced at the India Expo Centre & Mart, bringing together the garment manufacturing ecosystem under one roof. Recognised as South Asia’s leading platform for apparel technology, the four-day exhibition highlights innovation, efficiency, and global competitiveness in the sector.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key industry leaders, including Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited, along with senior representatives from apparel export clusters and manufacturing associations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Limited stated, “GTE continues to serve as a vital platform where industry stakeholders come together to witness cutting-edge technologies and understand how their application can transform the garment value chain.”
Shri HKL Magu, Member, Financial Budget, Apparel Export Cluster Board of Governors, Sector State Council of Apparel and Madeups and MD of Jyoti Apparels, remarked, “With over two decades in the apparel industry, platforms like GTE are essential for accelerating technology adoption and strengthening global competitiveness.”
This year’s edition features over 200 exhibitors representing more than 650 brands and is expected to attract over 15,000 trade visitors, including manufacturers, exporters, sourcing professionals, and technology experts. The exhibition covers a comprehensive range of solutions, including advanced machinery, CAD/CAM systems, digital textile printing, finishing technologies, trims, accessories, and next-generation production systems.
Supported by the Ministry of Textiles, the event is now MSME-approved, enabling micro, small, and medium enterprises to access government-backed opportunities for technology adoption and business expansion.
Shri Lalit Thukral, President, Noida Apparel Export Cluster, NAEC, observed, “While global challenges and high tariffs have slowed the industry, this is an opportunity to pause, rethink, and innovate to drive future growth and exports.”
A key highlight of GTE 2026 is the large-scale showcase of AI-powered automation technologies, which are increasingly shaping the future of garment manufacturing through enhanced productivity, precision, and operational efficiency.
Co-located with the Lace & Trims Show 2026, the event expands its scope by covering trims, embellishments, labels, and allied services, creating a comprehensive sourcing destination for the industry.
Shri Rakshit Poddar, President, Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan, GEAR, added, “For exporters, staying aligned with evolving technologies is critical, and GTE offers the right platform to explore and adopt these advancements.”
Additionally, trend forecasts presented by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) offer valuable insights into the future of apparel production and design.
The exhibition will run until 23 March 2026, continuing to serve as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and industry advancement.
