In the second Trump administration, Sebastian Gorka was appointed senior director for counterterrorism and deputy assistant to the president.
In an exclusive interview with Leigh-Ann Gerrans on Al Arabiya News, Gorka discussed the FBI, the incoming President-Elect Donald Trump, the recent terror incidents in the United States, and Trump’s preparations for his reelection next week.

Gorka was questioned by Gerrans on the recent security events in the United States, such as the fatal assault in New Orleans, and his first reactions after it was confirmed that the assailant had an ISIS flag flying from his car. Gorka stated:
As we’ve been saying on the American service, the MAGA platforms for the past four years, and the current clumsy Biden-Harris White House leadership, Lloyd Austin, the embattled outgoing defense secretary, should not have been searching the US military for neo-Nazis and so-called white supremacists.
“They ought to be searching for people like these who are part of the worldwide terrorist movement. Therefore, the Biden surrender of Afghanistan and the breakdown of Syria have reinforced the prospect of resurgence.
Unfortunately, this was to be expected, particularly since the FBI has turned into the political wing of the Democrat Party under the Biden administration, hunting down Catholics for attending Latin Mass in Richmond and grandmothers who prayed in Congress on Friday, the six, rather than pursuing actual terrorists like this one.
We have learned that the FBI and US police claim they were unaware of the New Orleans suspect. Knowing this, Gerrans questioned Gorka about what she would do to make things different. Gorka answered:
Because you have turned into a political arm, police force, and Gestapo-like organization for left-wing ideologues in the Democratic Party, you don’t locate terrorists. You’ve conducted a gunpoint raid on the president’s home, Mar-a-Lago, using the FBI. Peter Navarro, the former president’s aide at Ronald Reagan Airport, has been detained for contempt of Congress.
This is because Democrats do not consider the FBI to be a law enforcement agency. It is the Democratic Party’s armed Gestapo branch. For this reason, we need someone like Cash Metal to restructure it as a law enforcement agency.
“Donald Trump claimed that illegal immigration was the cause of the New Orleans attack, but the suspect was born and raised in Texas,” Gerrans then questioned Gorka. From 2006 until 2015, he spent a considerable amount of time in the United States Army. It seems that this was a domestic threat rather than an immigrant one. Was Trump’s analysis entirely incorrect in this case? Gorka went on to say:
“Not. Stephen Miller, the US deputy head of policy and a former top advisor in the first Trump administration, has brilliantly explained that the president’s comment was spot on.
“In America, there has never been an indigenous jihadi issue. We don’t have Islamist motorcycle gangs. This is a significant matter. The worldwide jihadi movement is present all over the world. It is completely absurd to think that this individual was radicalized in a basement by himself.
This was brought into the nation and poses a worldwide danger to Western civilization. It doesn’t matter if you were born here or not. A member of the international jihadi movement ensured that individual was radicalized.
Gerrans concluded by asking Gorka whether he believed that President Trump would not impose another “muslim” ban. Gorka answered:
“We implemented a travel ban, not a Muslim ban. Our travel ban is based on a threat assessment that we inherited from the Obama administration, which told us that seven countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan, were unable to confirm to us that the individuals traveling to the United States from those countries were not terrorists or a threat to our country.
“Stop,” said President Trump. Unless we have accurate information on these individuals entering our country and it has nothing to do with religion, these nations cannot transfer their citizens to America. Furthermore, it is up to the president to decide whether or not to impose some sort of restriction on the countries sending their individuals here.
As the top executive, he has the authority to restrict the entry of any foreign national into the United States, and he will exercise this authority in accordance with whether or not such nations pose an immediate threat. He’ll stop at nothing to keep people safe.”
