Giriraj Singh, the Union Minister of Textiles, attended an industrial interaction at Udyog Bhawan. The Minister was informed by Dr. Romesh Khajuria, Chairman of the Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), on the potential of alternative and related fibers to greatly increase textile exports at the occasion.
Key figures from the sector were present at the event, including Kanika Sood, an agriculturist at Humans of Hemp, Karan Sarsar, the founder and CEO of Awega Green Technologies LLP, Shripat Jagirdar, the founder and CEO of Weaving Vibes, and Shridhar Jagirdar, the founder and CEO of Karishma Exports.
The conversation on combining hemp and wool, in which specialists examined the rising demand for this sustainable and environmentally friendly textile combination worldwide, was a significant highlight. Dr. Khajuria underlined that the goal of this project is to establish India as a world leader in the sustainable textile sector.
In reference to global cooperation and export prospects, Dr. Khajuria endorsed plans to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with representatives from South Korea. These accords would promote investment in India, technology transfer, and information exchange. A buy-back agreement for hemp-based goods and innovative textile technology is another aspect of the cooperation.
