Addu city council in the Maldives and Business Center Corporation signed an agreement to establish a garment factory in the city. The agreement was signed by Addu city mayor Mohamed Shuau and BCC deputy managing director Samih Adam, with the council providing the necessary land for the factory.
The factory is designed to provide a corporate environment for individuals and SMEs to conduct garment businesses, with the goal of reducing reliance on imported clothes and promoting the growth of smaller businesses. Adam believes the project will lead to the expansion of commercial activities to an industrial scale, with the design phase currently underway.
