Reports suggest that Frasers Group has recently acquired Zee & Co, a small chain known for its stores in Essex and London, as part of its ongoing strategy to bolster its portfolio of premium independent retailers.
Founded in 1984 with its first boutique in Essex, Zee & Co has grown to operate four stores, offering a diverse range of fashion for men, women, and kids. Its collection features a blend of globally sourced pieces from renowned fashion houses and independent designers, emphasizing a fusion of different styles reflecting local subcultures and communities.
This acquisition aligns with Frasers Group’s continued efforts to transform into a prominent player in the premium fashion industry. The group has been actively pursuing a spree of acquiring smaller independent retailers, aiming to solidify its position in the market. Earlier acquisitions, including John Anthony, Matches (a luxury e-tailer), Gieves & Hawkes from Savile Row, and premium sports brands previously under JD Sports, highlight Frasers Group’s commitment to this strategy.
Additionally, Frasers Group has been increasing its investments in well-known brands like Hugo Boss, Mulberry, and N Brown, reinforcing its dedication to dominating the fashion market, especially in the premium segment.
