Franck Muller, a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, will introduce an exclusive line of 108 watches in India. The company sees India as a huge development opportunity and intends to enter the luxury real estate sector there.
“We are working on a very exclusive project of handcrafted 108 pieces for India, which we hope to launch before Diwali,” said Erol Baliyan, Franck Muller’s managing director for the Middle East, Africa, and India, in an interview with the Economic Times. “Our real estate venture has been very successful, and we intend to do a third project in India.” We hope to see a Frank Muller tower on India’s skyline in the future.”
As the Chinese economy slows and European markets contract, Franck Muller intends to focus on the Indian market, which he anticipates to grow significantly over the next three to five years. Swiss watch exports to the country currently account for a small percentage of its luxury consumption spend; therefore, the company sees plenty of space to expand its Indian operations.
Franck Muller has 11 places of sale in India and has opened its second exclusive brand outlet in New Delhi in collaboration with the Kapoor Watch Company. The business is considering opening another point of sale in Mumbai in the future.
