Renowned American heritage brand Filson has revealed its foray into womenswear with a much-anticipated debut collection set to hit the market in August 2024. The size-inclusive collection boasts 32 styles, encompassing outerwear, shirting, and accessories, available in sizes XS to 2XL, and with prices ranging from $98 to $995.

This strategic move into womenswear is backed by Cristina Calori, co-founder and president of WP Lavori, the Italy-based distributor that secured a minority stake in Filson in 2020. Inspired by trailblazing women throughout history, Calori collaborated with Filson’s chief creative officer, Alex Carleton, to curate a collection seamlessly blending style and function.

Carleton emphasized, “This debut collection was created for the woman who appreciates quality and timeless style no matter where she is or what she’s doing, embodying the modern spirit of adventure and individuality that we admire and celebrate.”

Established in 1897 in Seattle, Washington, with a focus on outfitting prospectors bound for the Yukon, Filson’s iconic styles have garnered attention from a more fashion-forward audience in recent years. While the brand has explored womenswear styles in the past, this marks its most significant investment in the market, presenting a full-scale collection.

Cristina Calori expressed confidence in Filson’s expansion, stating, “Expanding into the American market is a logical step, given existing e-commerce and store success catering to a female clientele with specific needs. It’s a natural progression.” Additionally, entering the younger Filson European market is seen as a strategic move to enhance and promote the entire collection’s values and quality.
