Filo66 Records Strong Visitor Interest in Milan

The 66th edition of Filo, the International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition, has concluded in Milan.

The event recorded strong visitor numbers and positive feedback from exhibitors and international buyers.

Filo66 presented yarn and fibre collections focused on style, innovation and research. In addition, steady visitor numbers highlighted continued interest in high-quality textile solutions.

Filo and Lineapelle Connect Textile Supply Chains

Filo66 once again took place alongside Lineapelle. The international exhibition covers leather, accessories, components, synthetics, fabrics and designs.

Its product focus spans footwear, leather goods, apparel and home furnishings.

As a result, the two exhibitions created an integrated environment for related fashion supply chains. They also gave exhibitors opportunities to connect with international markets.

Internationalisation remained a major focus for Filo. In particular, the exhibition continued to support small and medium-sized enterprises seeking overseas business opportunities.

Filo worked with ITA, the Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian Enterprises Abroad, and the Piedmont Region to strengthen this effort.

Through its partnership with ITA, Filo welcomed 20 buyers from several international markets. The delegation included buyers from France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey and India.

Meanwhile, Filo worked with the Piedmont Region through its Integrated ‘Textile’ Supply Chain Project. The project receives support from the 2021–2027 ERDF Operational Programme.

This collaboration also led to the organisation of the ‘Buyers’ Days’. Ceipiemonte implemented the initiative to support internationalisation and investment in Piedmont.

The programme included a significant delegation from the United Kingdom. The market has a long textile tradition and remains relevant to Italian textile companies.

Sustainability Remains a Key Focus

Sustainability continued to feature strongly across the Filo66 programme.

The exhibition has collaborated with C.L.A.S.S. and supported its InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S. project.

The initiative explores the values, choices and supply chain activities behind a new generation of clothing. It also aims to promote greater awareness and responsibility across the textile sector.

Furthermore, the project highlights the importance of integrated quality throughout the supply chain.

Filo Highlights Strong Supply Chain

At the close of Filo66, Paolo Monfermoso, Head of Filo, said:

“The 66th edition of Filo is closing positively. Buyers’s flow has been high and of a high calibre, whilst the number of exhibitors remained in line with February’s edition. On the eve of the event, this outcome wasn’t taken for granted, due to the current geopolitical crisis and the resulting economic downturn. The positive results of Filo66 naturally reflect the high quality and innovative capacity of exhibitors, as well as a supply chain, which remains strong and cohesive. We discussed the supply chain at length during the two days of Filo66, both at the Opening Ceremony and during the ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’. It is a central theme because many of the challenges facing the textile sector can only be tackled from a supply-chain perspective, especially regarding traceability and sustainability. A high-quality, strong and cohesive supply chain also enables us to tackle foreign markets more effectively: supporting companies in their internationalisation efforts is one of the Filo’s tasks, carried out in collaboration with ITA and the Piedmont Region. I am therefore particularly pleased that Matteo Masini, the Agency’s Director of Consumer Goods, wished to highlight Filo’s growth in recent years.”

According to Monfermoso, supply chain collaboration remains central to addressing key challenges. These include traceability, sustainability and international market development.

Filo66 Updates Trends Area

Filo also introduced several changes to its exhibition layout for the 66th edition.

One of the updates focused on the Trends Area. The changes aimed to improve how exhibitors presented their collections.

Monfermoso also adds that:

“For the 66th edition, we have made a few minor adjustments to the Trends Area to improve collections’ showcase, putting yarns’ displays for weaving alongside those for knitwear: this gives visitors an immediate overview of companies’ product ranges. We have also enlarged the space and renovated the layout dedicated to ‘Made in Filo’, the fabric collection entirely conceived and produced by Filo, which is enjoying growing success thanks to the many textile ideas and solutions it offers. In conclusion, I would like once again to thank everyone who contributed to the success of Filo66: companies, buyers, Lineapelle and its CEO, Fulvia Bacchi, the institutions that support us, first and foremost ITA and the Piedmont Region with Ceipiemonte, the speakers of the Opening Ceremony and the ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’, and the partner companies for their invaluable contribution to carry out ‘Made in Filo’, in particular Tessitura Zanello and Ricamificio Vanoni. I look forward to seeing you all at Filo67 in February 2027.”

The Made in Filo fabric collection also attracted growing attention. Filo conceived and produced the collection to showcase textile concepts and practical solutions.

The exhibition also recognised the contribution of partner companies. These included Tessitura Zanello and Ricamificio Vanoni.

Filo also thanked its supporting sponsors. These included Lauretana, Menabrea, Sellmat and Pasticceria Massera.

Filo67 Set for February 2027

The next edition of Filo will take place on 23 and 24 February 2027.

The event will return to Fiera Milano, Rho.

Filo67 will continue to focus on textile innovation, international business development and sustainability. It will also support stronger collaboration across the textile supply chain.
