FESPA has announced the passing of Lascelle ‘Las’ Barrow, Honorary Board Member and two-time Past President, who died on May 22, 2025, at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness.
Barrow’s three-decade-long contribution to FESPA and the global print industry was both pioneering and transformative. Serving as FESPA President from 1992–1996 and again from 2013–2015, he played a pivotal role in reshaping the organization’s strategy, events, and financial model.
He was a key figure in bringing FESPA’s exhibitions in-house in the 1990s and launching the FESPA Digital platform in 2006, which accelerated the digital revolution in wide-format printing. His vision led to FESPA’s global expansion, including FESPA Mexico and operations in Brazil and other emerging markets.
Beyond his global contributions, Barrow was deeply invested in grassroots engagement, supporting national member associations and helping license the FESPA brand internationally.
Barrow also co-founded Augustus Martin Ltd at just 19 and built it into a leading name in retail POS and out-of-home graphics. His influence extended far beyond business; he was known for his razor-sharp insight, candor, and unwavering dedication to print innovation and entrepreneurship.
FESPA CEO Neil Felton remarked, “Las was the heart of FESPA — brilliant, bold, and always ten steps ahead. His legacy lives on through the countless professionals, businesses, and innovations he helped shape.”
FESPA will announce upcoming tributes on fespa.com and its social media platforms.
