NIFT Daman Celebrates Graduating Class of 2025 with Convocation Ceremony

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Daman marked a significant milestone with its Convocation Ceremony 2025, held at the Mumbai Campus. The ceremony honored 29 postgraduate degree recipients from NIFT Daman, recognizing their academic excellence, innovation, and creative accomplishments.
Shri Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, the Minister highlighted the evolving landscape of the fashion industry, emphasizing the shift towards sustainability, ethical fashion, and slow design. He praised the fusion of traditional Indian craftsmanship with global sensibilities, making Indian design a prominent player in the world. Ms. Manjula Tiwari, CEO of Cover Story Clothing Ltd., joined as the Guest of Honor. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Tanu Kashyap, IAS, Director General of NIFT, Dr. Brijesh Deore, Director of NIFT Daman, Mr. Khushal Jangid, Director of NIFT Mumbai, Dr Vidhu Sekhar P, Campus Academic Coordinator, Daman.
During the event, Dr. Brijesh Deore presented a special edition of the Textile Value Chain Journal to the Minister, featuring 29 research papers by NIFT Daman’s Master of Fashion Management students. The Minister commended the graduating batch for their scholarly contributions and encouraged continued documentation of creative works.
The ceremony also recognized outstanding students with awards. Extraordinary Service Award (Netra Almoula), Student of the Year Award (Purva Viral Patel), Best Academic Award (Bhavna Daneti) and Best Academic Performance Award for R Srinidhi. The event concluded with a vibrant exchange of ideas, reaffirming NIFT’s role as a leader in shaping the future of Indian fashion, rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation.
