Hong Kong’s creative design hub PMQ, in partnership with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM), has brought FabriX back to Paris Fashion Week for the third year. This time, the digital fashion pioneer presents “Tomorrow Was _____: Fragments of Tomorrow, Told Through Fashion” — an ambitious project that blends art, culture, and technology.
A Multi-Sensory Journey Through Creativity and Innovation
Curated by FabriX, the exhibition transforms the Palais de Tokyo into an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Visitors are invited to explore how fashion connects memory and imagination through AR try-ons, 4D visuals, and AI-driven storytelling. Moreover, with support from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the event underscores the growing intersection of innovation and culture.
Four Designer–Artist Duos, Four Distinct Narratives
Each designer–artist duo brings a unique interpretation of the question: What will fashion mean tomorrow? Their collaborations merge disciplines such as choreography, sculpture, and digital art, offering a rich tapestry of creativity.
1. Tomorrow Was Archived (Imagery Installation)
Designer: Alain Paul × Artist: Liu Shuwei
2025 LVMH Prize finalist Alain Paul joins Shanghai-based artist Liu Shuwei to explore emotion and time through lightbox installations. Together, they blend Paul’s dance-inspired tailoring with Liu’s poetic mastery of illumination and shadow.
2. Tomorrow Was Becoming (Dance Choreography Video)
Designer: Caroline Hu × Choreographer: Emma Portner
Caroline Hu, winner of the BoF China Prize, collaborates with renowned choreographer Emma Portner. Their work fuses romantic couture and expressive dance to reflect transformation, solitude, and identity.
3. Tomorrow Was Glitched (AI-Generated Story)
Designer: Didu × AI Artist: 0nastiia
Didu, designer of BLACKPINK’s world tour costumes, partners with 0nastiia, an AI artist known for tarot-inspired digital visuals. Together, they create a futuristic narrative exploring empowerment and mysticism through a digital lens.
4. Tomorrow Was Inspiration (Haute Couture, 3D Sculpture & 4D Experience)
Designer: Kevin Germanier × Sculptor: Ram2isflat (feat. Technologist James Cao)
Kevin Germanier, who designed for the Paris Olympic Closing Ceremony, works with Ram2 and James Cao. Their collaboration transforms couture into an interactive 4D experience, allowing guests to step inside a digital sculpture.
Set Design by Gary Card: A Vision of the Future
To unify the exhibition, FabriX enlisted acclaimed set designer Gary Card, celebrated for his creations with Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Dover Street Market. His bold, grid-based design connects each chapter, guiding visitors through a vibrant, futuristic landscape.
Merging Technology and Couture
Since its debut in 2022, FabriX has redefined digital fashion innovation. This year, it integrates AR mirrors, interactive installations, and 4D visualisation to create immersive experiences. Furthermore, the showcase is supported by Innsvx (Hong Kong), Style3D, and 4DV.ai (Hangzhou). Together, they demonstrate how craftsmanship and advanced technology can transform fashion storytelling.
