Unveiling the Latest Trends in Interior Textiles and Design

Heimtextil stands out as an essential worldwide gathering for interior textiles, design, and trends in the industry. Introducing fresh products and setting the tone for the upcoming season, serves as a catalyst for innovation for exhibitors and attendees worldwide. The event, held in Frankfurt, Germany from January 9 to January 12, 2024, attracted professionals from various corners of the globe. Several companies engaged in discussions with the TVC Media Team regarding their participation in Heimtextil 2024, reflecting the event’s significance as a platform for networking and showcasing industry leadership.

LENZING INDIA

 

During a conversation with Avinash Mane, Senior Commercial Director – Textiles (AMEA & NEA) at Lenzing Group, he emphasised the significance of participating in Heimtextil as more than just a platform to showcase innovations. He stated, “For Lenzing, participating in Heimtextil is not just about showcasing innovations, it’s about being part of the global home supply chain conversation.” Lenzing Group showcased innovations in baby bedding products and Indian carpet developments, highlighting the use of TENCEL™ lyocell & modal fibres. These introductions have been well-received, particularly in the Indian market, where the home textile industry is flourishing with the adoption of TENCEL™ fibres by domestic brands. Lenzing’s focus on TENCEL™ fibres remains strong, powering products from bed sheets to bath items, while their exports to the US and EU markets continue to perform well.

BIRLA CELLULOSE INDIA

Mr Rahul Singrodia, Manager – Fibre Marketing & Business Development, emphasised, “The innovation in HeimTextil is impressive to see industry leaders like Welspun, Alok Inds., Micro Cotton, and Nandan Terry showcasing new developments in fibres such as SpunShades, Reviva, LivaEco, and Circulose.” 

Mr Naresh Kakar, General Manager – Fibre Marketing & Business Development, further discussed industry trends, stating, “The focus on sustainable solutions with the inclusion of fibres from Saxcell and Renewcell reflects a positive trend in the industry towards eco-friendly practices.” 

Both managers expressed optimism about the future of the home textiles industry, aligning with positive sentiments from the interest rate change cycle, suggesting a promising outlook for the sector in the upcoming months. It will be intriguing to observe how these developments shape the industry’s dynamics moving forward.

L S MILLS LIMITED

The innovations presented by L S MILLS LIMITED, discussed by Mr. Mr. S. MANIVANNAN, CHAIRMAN are Cupro and Deocell. According to the company representative, “Cupro is a regenerated cellulosic fibre made from cotton lint, produced by an eco-friendly process. The innovative aspect of Cupro lies in its sustainability and biodegradability, offering versatility through blending with other fibres for enhanced functionality in home textiles.” Additionally, Deocell, known for odour neutralisation, is highlighted for its sustainable production process, minimising environmental impact. The Home Textile industry is growing in India and the international market due to the focus on sustainability, eco-friendly materials, technological advancements like digital printing, smart textiles for Health & Wellness, and textile recycling technologies. India’s key role in the global market is supported by factors such as rising domestic demand, export growth, sustainability focus, and technological investments.

RSWM Limited

Mr. Balkrishna Sharma, Business Head and Chief Executive ( Yarn ) RSWM Ltd showcased a range of innovative products at Heimtextil 2024, including Kapaas, a state-of-the-art premium cotton compact yarn that enhances quality and performance through advanced technology. They also exhibited recycled biodegradable polyester staple fibre with CiCLO technology, contributing to sustainable textile production. Fancy yarns made from differential dyed fibres and polyester yarn mimicking linen texture were among the highlights. The company’s decision to participate in Heimtextil reflects a strategic commitment to excellence, networking, and accessing emerging trends in the global home and interior textiles market. RSWM Limited leverages Heimtextil as a platform to engage customers, foster partnerships, and showcase their dedication to sustainability and innovation. The home textile industry in India is growing steadily, supported by factors like rising incomes, population growth, organised retail expansion, and a culture of innovation in product offerings. India’s reputation for craftsmanship and diverse product range has led to international market penetration, attracting global buyers and investments.

Amber Home 

During a conversation with Mr Nimish Shah from Amber Home, he conveyed that no such innovation is presented at Heimtextil, which they exhibited for regular client interactions. He was sceptical about the growth of the industry.

VRIJESH CORPORATION 

In response to the question regarding the innovations in Heimtextil from the company, Purvi Agarwal, Managing Partner of Vrijesh Corporation highlighted, “Besides their regular innovations in speciality textured polyesters with space dyed slubs & boucle, this year they also showcased warp printed fabrics and banana/cotton fabric.” When asked about the general innovation observed at the exhibition, Agarwal noted, “The impressive efforts to repurpose recycled clothing into fabrics for home furnishing stood out.” Reflecting on the growth of the Home Textile industry in India and the international market, Agarwal emphasized, “Local sales are on the rise as consumers are becoming more conscious and sophisticated. However, the international market is sluggish and price-sensitive.”
