The ever-growing change in consumer sentiment in the last few years towards healthy and trusted food has provided a lucrative scope for new entrants to get a foothold in the country’s consumer packaged foods market. Branded wheat flour is one of the largest segments in the foods industry. Recognizing its potential and the need to expand its reach in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Darjeeling Flour Mills has forayed into the packaged essential items space to launch Deb Bhog– a brand offering premium quality Atta, Maida, Sooji, and Dalia, packed with the goodness of various nutrients, at best affordable prices.
Since its inception in 1973, Darjeeling Flour Mills has been one of the most established names in the country’s Public Distribution System, with its headquarters in Siliguri and operating in East and North East India. It is the FMCG arm of Subrata Ghosh enterprises. Subrata Ghosh is a dynamic entrepreneur having a diversified business portfolio spanning Hospitality, FMCG & construction.
With Deb Bhog, the company aims to make hygienically ground wheat flour more accessible in smaller cities and towns and help consumers switch to a healthier and safer option. The Atta is available in 3 sizes (1 KG, 5 KG, and 10 KG), and Maida is available in 2 sizes of 500GM and 1G, with Sooji and Dalia being 500gm respectively.
