Durak Tekstil has unveiled the Laser Safe sewing thread, designed to withstand the high heat and energy of laser etching, abrasion, and patterning in denim production. Unlike standard threads that weaken or burn under laser exposure, this polyester-cotton blend maintains seam strength and integrity, ensuring durability and comfort for end users.
Developed through extensive R&D with input from denim manufacturers and validated by a globally recognized brand, the thread is part of Durak Tekstil’s Poly-Strong PC series, meeting strict quality, safety, and health standards.
According to Yiğit Durak, Vice Chairman of Durak Tekstil, the innovation aligns with the denim industry’s shift toward safer, eco-friendly laser processing, which replaces older, harmful etching methods. Tested under four laser intensities, the Laser Safe thread delivered up to twice the strength and less performance loss compared to conventional threads.
The solution also offers washing fastness, low shrinkage, and resistance to microorganisms, enhancing both manufacturing efficiency and consumer satisfaction. Available in Ticket 30 and 50 thicknesses and multiple colors, it ensures versatility for denim, workwear, home textiles, and apparel.
Durak Tekstil initially aims to serve the Turkish, Egyptian, and Pakistani markets, positioning this innovation as a benchmark product for laser-friendly denim production, supporting manufacturers in creating high-value garments while extending the lifespan of denim products for consumers.
